So I had a chance to get creating on the weekend.  (sigh!!) Just so happened to be at Escape to Create - the best scrapbooking retreat ever, at Port Lincoln.

Here's what I came up with:

Lots of fun little strips of torn paper.  My style.

I LOVE that wire! How cool is that?! The easiest way to adhere it to the page is to staple it on.

I just love those acrylics, and believe me there is a song lyric in there to suit everyone, and just about every situation.

Was so fun to play with the Kit.
I can't wait to see what you create with it.
I'll be back real soon to share another layout.

Scrap the Boys....June Challenge

Hi there everyone

Well can you believe I actually got the time to go in a challenge?? I know right!  I haven't done this for months but as soon as I saw the moodboard over at Scrap the Boys I knew I wanted to have a go.

Here it is:

Here's my take on it.  It came together really quickly.
I was inspired by the colours, the circles (used a 2Crafty Chipboard Circle) and the tread mark.

See that tread stamp? I did that with a wheel from my son's lego.  Just roll it in ink, and roll it across your page.

Here's a close up of one of the clusters.  I was so excited to use those spark plugs from my stash.  I've had them for ages and been waiting for the right page.  Thanks Scrap the Boys!!

I also had a lot of fun making chipboard cogs look like metal.
I think it worked.

Well that's it from me, I'll be back soon.

Let's go on Adventures...

Happy Friday everyone!!

Here to share what I've been working on lately - my latest design for All About Scrapbooks.

This time I got to play with some of Cocoa Vanilla's Colour Me Happy Range.
I love this company. I love that they are Australian.  I love their products, and this new range is just gorgeous!

This range has neutral papers, which is awesome as it allows you to add your own colour, whether that be with paint, spritz, pens, crayons or pencils.

I immediately grabbed the gorgeous leaf paper, and of course - green!
I used spritz, and then began my layering.
I noticed the reverse of the paper was green - Perfect!
So I trimmed it down a little, allowing me to use the green reverse strips in my layering.
I also tore the edges of the paper, to allow some of the green to show around the edges.

As the layout has an 'outdoor/nature' theme, I also selected some leafy chipboard from 2 Crafty, and a few flowers to complement this.
The three large flowers were all originally white, I spritzed one with the background spritz, just to make it match perfectly!

The embellishments from this Colour Me Happy range are awesome.
I used quite a few - doilies, a flair, words, journal spots.
I can't wait to use them in my Project Life.

See you soon!

Note to Self
by Tammy Klingner

Well I'm back to share another Friday Inspiration for All About Scrapbooks.

This one was totally inspired by one of the Project Life Cards in the Kaisercraft Finder's Keepers Treasure Chest.  I love how this kit contains PL Cards, and co-ordinating die cuts!

I love the colours in this collection, and I love the script font words.

As soon as I saw this quote 'Worry less, live more" I knew it had to be a title on a layout.
A note/reminder to myself.
A mantra to live by.

So I cut it out.
I added some gesso, and a few splashes of spritz to a gorgeous woodgrain Paper,

I then layered up some doilies, some strips of paper, and a few embellies from the range.

I finished off the layout by using some 2Crafty Chipboard.
I decided to leave it 'a la natural' to suit the colours in my layout.
I really love those revolution frames. I love how they draw your focus to the photo.

There is soooo much in the kit that I've created another Project Life spread.
I think I've still got enough to do another too (first things first eh - think about that next week!)

I focused on the blues, greens and reds in the kit this week, as last time I used the pretty creams, corals, krafts and yellows.
I really wanted this week to look totally different in my album.

I love it when a range is so versatile!

Just ignore the glare from the plastic sleeve!

Thanks for stopping by.

It's the Little Things

Good morning everyone
It's my turn to share some inspiration for All About Scrapbooks - the best online scrappy store!

This week's work, was inspired by my layout last week.
I created a layout on stripey paper, using just neutrals,
It was all about my girl.
It inspired me to create a layout about my boy.

I grabbed a lime stripey paper.  Lime is my spunky boy's favourite colour.
Lime also looks amazing with black and white!!I hunted for all the black and white I could find.

I grabbed new items - for example, the transparency from Kaisercraft Finders Keepers Treasure Chest range; and older leftover items, for example Cocoa Vanilla Made of Awesome Stickers.

I again, tried to just use layers of paper - and NOT create a mixed media background (my usual scrappy style).
You see I just love this background paper - I wanted it to Shine!

A few flicks of black paint, some journaling, and this layout was done!
I love it!

This layout is about my son and his Nanny.
About their relationship, about generations learning from one another, about the little things in life, and how they are really the big things.

Playing with Kaisercraft!

Today I'm sharing a layout of me and my beautiful girl I created for All About Scrapbooks.

I recently ordered Kaisercraft's Finders Keepers Range from the store.  It is absolutely beautiful!
Although I'm not a huge flowery person, I am a big WORD person, and I love that this range has lots of words and quotes - in a hand-drawn font. Perfection!
Also the colours are amazing.

This coral and cream striped paper is stunning.  I love the hand painted stripes, and knew as soon as I saw it I just had to use it for a background.

For those of you who know my work, you know I usually create a mixed media  background.

Today I decided to NOT do this - I wanted to create layers, just with paper.
So I began.....layering it up.

I recently ordered some of the Cocoa Vanilla Doilies - these look great in the layers, as they add texture and a different shape.

My other fave thing to use in my scrappy pages are die cut frames.  They create little windows - they don't cover up too much of my background, but add a contrast.

So a few layers using the doilies, frames, Project Life cards, and torn leftovers.

I also added in quite a few die cuts from Kaisercraft.
I ordered the Treasure Chest Kit.
It contains Project Life cards, die cuts and also these cool printed acetate cards.  Love Love Love!!

I then added some chipboard from 2Crafty.
I decided to keep the chipboard 'a la natural', as the raw colour worked really well with the tones in the layout.

Of course I couldn't help but finish it with a few flicks of paint!
I tried so hard to just use paper, but I guess it got me in the end.

This layout documents my girl and I.
Everyone is always saying how alike we are - in looks, mannerisms, voice etc.
And well, I can't see it.

All I know is that she is the most beautiful girl to walk the planet.

Anyway, when I saw this photo, I could see it! - the similarities I mean.
So I wanted to scrap the story.

I also created a Project Life spread, which was super easy with the Kasercraft Kit.

Here's the left side:

So great to have another week in my album!!
Woohoo!

So let's get into it!

This month at Scrap the Girls, we have a mood board, designed by our talented Rikki Graziani.
It's delicious!!
Here it is:

Gorgeous is an understatement!

I was inspired by all of it!
Here is my Design Team layout:

I was inspired by everything!! The colours;  the words (sunshine); the Moroccan shape (background stencilling); the canola (background of photo).

This month, Scrap the Girls is sponsored by D-Lish Scraps - there is a cool prize - one of their 'Just Add Paper' Kits is up for grabs.
They have some awesome embellishments!!  I have used lots on my page -the flair, resin bird, tag, journal spot and die cut.
Make sure you check them out.

I can't wait to see what you come up with for this challenge!
For further inspiration visit Scrap the Girls and check out what the rest of the NEW Design Team created.  They are stunning!!

See you soon,
Tam
